Founded in 1978 by Phil Black, Presco Engineering, Inc. has grown from a visionary small business into a trailblazer in engineering and manufacturing. Over the past 45 years, we've propelled countless clients towards commercial success by transforming groundbreaking ideas into market-ready technologies.

1978

Presco Engineering, Inc. founded by Phil Black in New Haven, CT. Presco was established with a mission to deliver exceptional engineering and research and development services.

1979

Acquiring a DEC PDP11/34 computer system in our first year enabled us to quickly take on software-intensive development projects. Our early collaborations included major names like St. Regis Paper Company and General Electric, where we developed real-time machinery controls, advanced data acquisition systems, and innovative software solutions.

1980s

We enhanced our facilities with a modern electronics laboratory equipped with cutting-edge tools like high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and microprocessor emulation stations. This era saw us delve deeper into industrial sensors and actuators, and we began designing microprocessor-based instruments which later evolved to include sophisticated digital signal processors and ECL-based computational architectures.

Leading with FPGA Innovation

A key component of our ongoing success is our commitment to leveraging Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). Our in-house FPGA Design Center allows us to rapidly develop custom circuits that combine lower costs, smaller footprints, and enhanced reliability—delivering the advantages of custom integrated circuits without the traditional development overhead. This capability ensures that our clients benefit from the latest innovations more efficiently, cementing Presco's reputation as a dependable and innovative partner.
